[News] Overview of the plans for 2024


Hello everyone,

This year will be the most important one so far on Kalyskah’s development and we’d like to acknowledge that we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for all the supporters and fans who stood by us for these trying years, thank you for believing and supporting us. With that in mind, we’d like to remain transparent with the community and share our plan for this year and what it will mean for the Kalyskah game.

The big event of the year for us will be the Early Access release, and with that in mind, we’ve made big structural changes within the team, we are now focusing all our resources on making sure we deliver a stable, fun and optimized experience for everyone when they click play on the Early Access release day.

Also throughout the year we will be participating in numerous events, both online and live and for that, we are working on a new public demo, this will have restricted areas until all the code is updated but will allow players to have a taste of what the game will be like on Unreal 5 when it releases. The demo and all the pre-alpha versions will still be available for supporters during production.

Quarterly Timeline

Q1 - Unreal 5

  • Kalyskah Demo.
  • Technical work on the Unreal 5 transition.
  • Update the game trailer (Both Story and Erotic Content).
  • CDQ Belo Horizonte - Showing Kalyskah’s Statue.

Q2 - Polishing

  • Game optimization and polish.
  • Steam fest.

Q3 - Ealy Access

  • EA release.
  • New Trailer with Unreal 5.

Q4 - Events

  • Bug fixing and polish.
  • BGS (Brasil Game Show) - Showing Kalyskah’s Statue.
  • Comic-Con Experience (Brazil) - Showing Kalyskah’s Statue.

Teams

Technical Team

First quarter the technical team will finish the conversion to Unreal 5, this entails fitting the old data to new systems, fixing errors on the map and reviewing all the assets. The second quarter will be a mix of continuing the work with readying the demo and other presentation elements. The rest of the year will be system development focused and polish and testing for EA release.

Voice Actors

During 2024 the voice actors will focus on ambient dialog and banter to liven up the world. As cinematics will be reduced, long dialogues will not be as often.

Animators

Will focus on ambient animation and object interaction throughout the world. When the Unreal 5 conversion is done, animators will focus on the combat overhaul along with the technical team. In Q3, Animators will help polish the game and add missing animations to the quests and cinematics.

Writers

New quests will be on pause until we finish UE5 transition and prepare the new systems for the open world,  quests will be resumed in Q2 and voiced according to the available budget.

Art

The modellers will keep focus on the characters, implementing new clothes and hair.
